Electron Superhighway

This scientific illustration was created as an illustration of a new technology to control electrical transport separately from thermal transport by leveraging the 2-dimensional electron gas in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures. Shown here is an imagining of that technology where phonons (yellow) are shuttled from a heated 'electron city' in the distance to a cooler, distant heat sync.
